There is plenty to do in the surrounding Chesterfield Township, Mt. Clemens, and Anchor Bay area that will keep you busy no matter what your interests are.

Outdoor Activities

Chesterfield Township is a beautiful area with tons of natural resources. The Brooke Meadows neighborhood is just one street away from Anchor Bay Harbor, so if you own a boat or you just like to spend the day at the beach, you’re only a short walk from a day in the sun.

Also, there are many local parks for the whole family to enjoy! First is Bradenburg Park, which has a splash pad that your children will love. For children who love sports, Pollard Park is perfect. Pollard Park has 5 baseball fields and 4 soccer fields to support local youth sports leagues, in addition to pavilions and picnic areas. Looking for a relaxing day on the water? Try the waterway at Webber Paddle Park and soak up the sun as you glide along. Finally, the 32-acre Salt River Nature Center is a great place to introduce your kids to the local wildlife. There are nature paths as well as designated wildlife viewing areas and wildlife educational resources.

For the golfers in your family, there are a few great options to choose from. The closest course is the public 18-hole Salt River Golf Club. If you want some variety to your golf experience, there is also the Oak Ridge Golf Club. Oak Ridge features two full 18-hole courses, one of which is a challenging links-style course. To get the whole family involved in a more casual experience, head over to World’s Finest Frozen Custard and Family Center. You can play a round of mini-golf, and when you’re finished, your kids can redeem the free small frozen custard coupon that comes with their round!

Dessert lovers, one of the best pie makers in the nation is located in Chesterfield Township! Featured on The Rachael Ray Show, Good Morning America, and the Food Network, Achatz Handmade Pie Co. is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. They make their pies from scratch by hand using locally sourced ingredients. You can support a local family-owned bakery while getting a treat for yourself, it’s a win-win!

For any other sort of shopping, you can imagine, head over to the 600,000 sq. ft. Gibraltar Trade Center. Not only does it house hundreds of small businesses open every weekend, but it also hosts car shows, carnivals, gun and knife shows, concerts, racing events, and much more.

Head down to the Selfridge Air National Guard Base to experience the Selfridge Military Air Museum and Air Park. You can see and learn about artifacts from multiple past conflicts, and a variety of aircraft from throughout the American military’s history.

Step back into the turn of the 20th century with the Michigan Transit Museum. This historic train depot has been remodeled to look like it did back in 1900! There are plenty of exhibits to view, and you can even catch a ride on their historic train.
