With Halloween quickly approaching, we’ve made a collection of what there is to do around our custom homes for adults and families to enjoy.

Halloween Events near Clear Creek (Rochester, MI)

On Friday, October 8 from 6:00-8:30 p.m., the Rochester Avon Recreation Authority is throwing a Trunk or Treat, where you can drive up and pass out candy while your children trick or treat! There will be prizes for the best-dressed vehicles, as well as cider and donuts provided at the end of the event. Registration is $15.

On Saturday, October 16 from 3:30-7:00 p.m., Downtown Rochester will be hosting a trick or treat and Halloween Fest event in the Rochester Farmers Market parking lot. Trick or treating will be from 3:30-5:00 p.m., followed by a parade at 5:15, and then there is a Halloween Fest to end the event from 5:00-7:00 p.m. For the first 200 trick or treaters, free pumpkins will be handed out.

For adults, the Meadow Brook Hall and Gardens in Rochester Hills will be hosting a Mystery Dinner on Thursday, October 21, and Thursday, October 28 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. There will be a three-course meal with cocktails, as well as a mystery murder to solve. Tickets for a reservation are $90 each.

Halloween Events near Royal Park (Shelby Township, MI)

On Friday, October 15, there will be a Halloween Spooktacular event happening at Heritage Lake. Trick or treating will start at 6:30 p.m., followed by a movie showing of Scoob! Starting at 7:30 p.m. The event is free for Shelby Township residents, and $10 per person for non-residents.

If you like being creative and decorating, then the 2021 Shelby Township Scarecrow Contest is for you! Registration opens on October 1, and the scarecrows will be displayed from Oct0ber 11 to November 1. Entry is free (entry form here), and scarecrows must be family-friendly.

Halloween Events near Meadowlands (Washington Township, MI)

In Davison, MI, the Pumpkin Investigation will be held on Monday, October 25 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. It takes a fun, scientific approach to the pumpkin, allowing children to explore what makes up a pumpkin, make predictions, discuss its lifecycle, make goop from the guts, and more! It is $5 per resident and $7 per non-resident.

On Wednesday, October 27 from 10:00- 11:30 a.m., children can participate in the Halloween Mystery Hike. They’ll search for clues, learn new skills, and try to solve a mystery in the trails of the Robert Williams Nature & Historic Learning Center. Registration is $3 each for residents and $5 each for non-residents.

Halloween Events near Peninsula Condos (Brighton Township, MI)

At Camp Dearborn in Milford, MI, every weekend in October they are hosting Halloween Weekends! It’s a fun-filled weekend for the whole family, with plenty of Halloween activities to participate in. There will be pumpkin carving, a Haunted Maze, face decorating, a costume parade and contest, trick or treating, and much more! For more details and a schedule of the events, click here.

From October 7-31, Greenfield Village will be hosting Halloween in Greenfield Village. These events run from 4:00-9:30 p.m. each day, and you can walk through Greenfield Village at your own pace to take in the Halloween fun! There is a spooky train ride on the Greenfield Express, Halloween-themed dining experiences, costumed characters from your favorite Halloween movies, hot cider, craft beer, and more.
